Our
headquarters are located just outside of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
Plant Facilities and Resources
Our commitment to quality performance is reflected in
our own world-class production facilities. Emerson Process
Management Power & Water Solutions combines state-of-the-art
manufacturing techniques, statistical quality control, and
a just-in-time (JIT) production system to provide our customers
with the products they want, at the time they designate.
We employ more than 700 full-time personnel at our 10 major
facilities. Engineering personnel located at these facilities
average more than 15 years of process control or instrumentation
experience. Combined, our 12 facilities provide over 400,000
square feet of manufacturing and staging space. Since 1968,
our headquarters have been located in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
This 280,000 square-foot facility is the primary engineering,
manufacturing, and training location for our WDPF and Ovation
control systems.
Manufacturing and Staging on the Floor
We
utilize state-of-the-art, surface mount technology to build
components of the Ovation® system. Circuit boards are
designed and systems assembled at Pittsburgh headquarters
and then delivered to the customer site, where implementation
and testing is conducted.
Each Ovation® system we sell is typically installed and
implemented at the location where the system will be operating.
If the customer specifications require testing against actual
process conditions, we can simulate the process and test the
system under those process conditions. If our customers prefer
to have all testing conducted on-site, to avoid travel expenses
to Pittsburgh, we will accommodate those needs. Most importantly,
we are flexible.
Quality Driven Manufacturing
At every stage of the process, from raw materials procurement
to final system integration, product quality is the first
consideration. We call it Quality-Driven Manufacturing. To
us, it means working to our own high-quality standards; meticulous
inspection at every critical stage of the manufacturing cycle;
rigorous internal testing; automated inventory and sequencing;
and complete factory acceptance testing.
Where your specifications require testing against actual
process conditions, we can simulate your process and test
your system under those process conditions. Although product
testing and inspection are the most visible activities performed
by quality assurance personnel, this program also includes
auditing of procedures in manufacturing, inspection, shipping,
receiving, and tool and instrument calibration.
