To keep pace with rapidly advancing technology, Emerson offers the Ovation Evergreen Technology Upgrade Program. Ovation Evergreen provides an efficient means to keep your Ovation system continually up-to-date, allowing you to avoid costly and time consuming major system retrofits or upgrades.
A module of SureService, the Ovation Evergreen Technology
Upgrade Program is designed to extend the life of your control
system in the face of rapidly advancing technology via planned
replacement or upgrade of covered components including networks,
workstations, and system software. This planned replacement and migration of outdated system components will allow you to continually increase the capacity and functionality of your system, and help you avoid potential hardware
obsolescence issues. Intended to provide long-term support, the Evergreen program offers predictable costs while avoiding the much higher expense, disruption and risk of periodic wholesale system replacements.
To minimize disruption to normal plant operations, upgrades
and replacements can be coordinated to occur during scheduled
outage periods.
Ovation Evergreen provides:
- Replacement workstations and servers with the latest
approved technology
- Upgrade of FDDI/CDDI networks to the latest Fast Ethernet technology, including switches, NICs, and applicable cables (most cables will be retained)
- On-site installation of the workstations, servers and network
- Upgrade of system software to the latest level
- Removal and disposal of old hardware in compliance with asset accounting requirements (asset tag removal and return)
- Periodic software updates, which are minor revisions to your current system level, during the program period until the actual upgrade to the next level of Ovation technology occurs
