Prerequisites
Prior completion of WSU-8.6 (WEStation Software
User) or SYS (WDPF® System
User), or WSM-8.6 (WEStation Software Maintenance)
or SYM (WDPF System Maintenance)
is required. A working knowledge of control systems and control theory is recommended.
Description
This course is intended for those students who must implement WDPF control
programs or make significant modifications to existing programs using the WEStation,
PCH or the Classic Engineer station. Using previous knowledge of control theory,
the student will learn how to implement control design in a WDPF environment.
The course emphasizes how to apply, scale, tune, track and configure algorithms.
This course builds on the control topics presented in the prerequisites and
includes classroom lectures on WDPF control algorithms, oral and written
problem presentations, and selected lab exercises.
Objectives
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:
- Implement control from a SAMA or ISA functional diagram
- Use all graphic algorithms
- Build or modify ladders, graphic control or text control
in an existing WDPF system
