The Q-Line family of process I/O circuit cards provide data
accumulation and dissemination for the Westinghouse WDPF®
system. Q-Line cards are designed and built to provide maximum
flexibility and long life, and are housed in the Distributed
Processing Unit. The DPU contains a Data Highway Controller
which provides a communication interface to the highway. A
functional processor (CPU) is combined with an interface between
the DPU's Multibus and the Q-line Distributed I/O Bus (DIOB).
Diagnostic and Extender test cards permit DIOB testing, parameter
entry, and card extension for troubleshooting. This functional
processor (CPU) performs data acquisition and control functions.
The Q-Line Process I/O is memory-mapped for improved utilization
of high-level, user-oriented programming languages. Other
features include easy system expansion and/or modification,
a comprehensive line of process I/O point cards, and optional
dual power supply configurations with diode auctioneering
per card. Protection of cards during power failure, card insertion,
and card removal minimizes damage to circuitry.
Q-Line I/O Features:
- Ability to expand/ modify system.
- Memory-mapped I/O for improved use of high-level programming
languages.
- Common bus interface and protoc6/13/07iety of card configurations on the DIOB.
- Optional dual power supply configurations with diode auctioneering
per card.
